Claude Hoffman

WOLCOTTVILLE — Claude Norman Hoffman, age 84, of Wolcottville died on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla.
Mr. Hoffman was born in Kendallville, Indiana, on Feb. 28, 1931 to the late Emery Emanuel Herbert Hoffman and Irma (Myers) Hoffman. He graduated from Rome City High School in 1949 and proudly served two years in the United States Army. He married Nancy Ann Wright on Oct. 19, 1968 at the Asbury Methodist Church in Albion, Indiana. Claude was a lifetime Noble County dairy farmer. He was a charter member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and held various offices including chairman, elder, and trustee. Claude was an avid reader he loved spending time with his grandson. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and eating out for lunch. He was also a member of the Rome City American Legion and the Kendallville V.F.W.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Hoffman of Wolcottville; two daughters, Jan Hoffman of Wolcottville and Kelly Hoffman of Rome City; a grandson, Aiden Hoffman of Rome City; two sisters Margaret Frick of Kendallville and Mary and Robert Ackerman of Florida.; a brother, Robert and Connie Hoffman of Elwood, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Nelda Hoffman of Wolcottville.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and George Masylar; brother, Herbert Hoffman; and
brother-in-law, Burton "Burt" Frick.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Wolcottville.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service.
Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. James Tews.
Burial will be in Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Memorial donations may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church.
Casketbearers will be Jerry Bidwell, Dave Schermerhorn, Terry Frick, and Tom Nodine.
