David Frazier Obituary

FORT WAYNE — David L. Frazier died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at his home with his loving family by his side.
David, son of Harold Luther and Naomi Meyer Frazier, was born in Bluffton, Indiana, on June 7, 1936. After living in Hartford City, his family moved to Fort Wayne where he graduated from North Side High School.
He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve Surface Division, being discharged in 1962.
David was a graduate of General Electric Tool and Die apprenticeship. He went on to work as a tool and die maker at Quality Tool; Locke Steel Chain, Huntington, Indiana; Model Engineering (Memcor), Huntington, Indiana; Entertran, Fort Wayne, Indiana; Fisher Engineering, Huntington, and Guide Engineering, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He also worked at Hank's 76, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In 1964, David joined the Fort Wayne Police Department and served the citizens of the city as an officer in the Uniform Division and Traffic Division. He went on to become a sergeant in the Detective Bureau and then a master sergeant in the Uniform Division, retiring in 1984. David then became a program chair of the Tool and Die program at Ivy Tech Community College, Northeast, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He additionally serve as a Department Chair over the Welding Program the Industrial Maintenance Program, and the CAD Design Program. David retired from Ivy Tech in 1999 as a full professor and the Department Chair in Manufacturing and Design.
Additional education included graduating from the Traffic Institute, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, and he also studied at Indiana University, IPFW and Ivy Tech Community College. David was owner of TEK R & R, Hudson. Indiana.
David met Margaret Rose Schell on a blind date in September 1955, asking her to marry him on the second date four days later. Her answer was yes, but not for two years 'as we need to go to school.' David and Margaret were married June 8, 1957.
Margaret survives him at their home in rural Hudson, Indiana.
He was a member of Ashley Masonic Lodge 614 F& AM, Mizpah Shrine, Fraternal Order of Police, DeKalb Lodge No. 196 and First Congregational United Church of Christ Angola, Indiana.
He is survived by four children, Mark Alan (Tammy) Frazier; Mischelle Rose (William) Frazier; Mary (Anthony) Adomaitis and Pegi (Mark) Boswell; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Maverick Luther Musser; and close friend and business partner, Donald G. Henderson II.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 314 W. Maumee, Angola, Indiana, with calling hours starting at 9:30 a.m. Calling also will be at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. and Fraternal order of Police service immediately following.
Burial will be a Hollister Cemetery, 3000 S. C.R. 700W, Hudson, Indiana, with military honors conducted by the American Legion of Ashley, Indiana.

So sorry for your loss. I had david as my professor at ivy tech in 1986-1988. Wonderful teacher and friend. I have thought of him often the last 6 months, as I have returned to college to update my Autocad and learn cnc and cam.
