Forest Moore Obituary

LIGONIER — Forest Moore, 76, of Ligonier, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at home.
Mr. Moore was born in Handshoe, Kentucky, on Dec. 18, 1939, to the late Farris Moore and Ellen (Allen) Moore Davis. He married Sarah Combs on Dec. 28, 1962. Forest was retired in 2004 as a foreman from Starcraft Boats in Wolcottville, Goshen and Topeka after 45 years of service. He was a member of the New Freedom Baptist Church in LaGrange and he loved hunting and fishing. His pride and joy was his garden.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sarah Moore of Ligonier; son, Charlie Ritchie of Ligonier; grandson, Jeremie F. and Desiree Ritchie, U.S. Army, Fort Leonardwood, Missouri; great-granddaughter, Stella Cruz Ritchie; and sister, Irene Moore of Ligonier, Fairlena Napier of Stroh, Dorothy Mynhier of Stroh, Kitty and Dillard Neace of Stroh, Shirley and Ray Swank of Westler Lake, near Wolcottville, and Wilma Hutton of Stroh.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville and Monday any time after 3 p.m. at New Freedom Baptist Church in LaGrange.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. at New Freedom Baptist Church in LaGrange. Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Wade Sturdivant. Burial will be at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
