Fred Fifer Obituary

ANGOLA — Fred A. Fifer, 77, of Angola, Indiana, died on April 10, 2018, at Parkview Randallia Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was born on February 13, 1941, in rural Steuben County, Indiana, to Roland Jake and Irene (Waters) Fifer.
He married Anita J. Chrysler on December 1, 1962.
Fred worked at Dana Weatherhead for 33 years, retiring in 1992.
He attended Pleasant Lake United Methodist Church and Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, Indiana. He graduated from the Indianapolis School for the Deaf in 1960.
Fred was active in many deaf organizations in the area. He enjoyed woodworking, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his three sons, Larry (Pam) Fifer of Loudon, Tennessee, Tony (Tammy) Fifer of Angola and Jerry (Missy) Fifer of Angola; brother Bill (Sally) Fifer of Angola and sister, Pam (Floyd) Newcomer of Leo. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Larry Fifer Jr., Shaye (Jordan) Pfister, Seth (Kayla Northrup) Fifer, Jacob Fifer, Molly Fifer and Maren Fifer, along with one great-granddaughter, Eleanor Pfister, and another great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 55 years, Anita J. Fifer, on September 13, 2017; daughter Cathy Fifer; and brothers Rick Fifer and Jim Fifer.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, Indiana, with Pastor John Boyanowski officiating.
Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, Indiana; Pleasant Lake United Methodist Church, Pleasant Lake, Indiana; and to DeafLink, 5821 S. Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne, Indiana 46816.
Condolences may be expressed online through the website, www.weichtfh.com.
Local arrangements are being handled by the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.

We will miss Fred at Deaf Family & Friends camp at Lake James Christian Camp! Last summer he came and signed"How Great Thou Art" for one of our Worship times! He and Anita were such special friends at camp. Love and prayers for their family!
