Jerry Ball Obituary
HAMILTON - Jerry W. Ball, 71, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Jerry was born November 17, 1946, in Auburn, Indiana, the son of the late Fred F. and Iva L. (Zimmer) Ball. He was a 1964 graduate of Hamilton High School. Jerry married Maureen Brannan on December 14, 1968, in Hamilton, Scotland, and she survives.
Jerry was a machinist with Dana Weatherhead in Angola until the plant closed. He then worked for TI Automotive in Ashley until his retirement in 2011.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints in Angola. He formerly was a member of the Goldwing's Roadriders Club. Jerry had a passion for his church and mostly for his family. He also enjoyed gardening, fixing cars, tractors, lawnmowers and whatever he could find that needed repaired. Jerry was known as a "wrench monkey."
Surviving is his wife, Maureen of Hamilton; three sons, Garry (Beth) Ball of Hamilton, Scott Ball of Angola and Brian (Brad) Ball of Pleasant Lake; six grandchildren, Marcos Ball, Hayden Putman, Alex Ball, Allyson McConn, Zacurry Ball and Brendan McConn; one sister, Mary (Rick) Kolczinski of Hamilton; and one brother, Larry (Beth) Ball of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Jerry W. Ball will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, 1508 Williams St., Angola, with Elder Tom Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the Hamilton American Legion Post 467. The family will receive relatives and friends two hours prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hamilton.
