INDIANAPOLIS - Karen T. Liby PhD, age 52, of Indianapolis, Indiana, went home with Jesus on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024 surrounded by family.
Karen was born in Angola, Indiana, on May 15, 1972, and was the daughter of Thomas and MaryAnn (Gandenberger) Liby.
She graduated from Faith Christian Academy. She received a bachelor of science degree from Hillsdale College, master of science degree from Palmer College (Iowa), and PhD from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
At IU School of Medicine, Karen was professor of medicine, pharmacology and toxicology and cancer center research member.
Karen is survived by her parents, Thomas and MaryAnn Liby; brother, Keith Liby; sister, Sarah (Mario) DeFreitas; three nephews; and one niece.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, from 3-7 p.m., at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., in Waterloo, Indiana.
Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service from 2-3 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Circle Cemetery in Hudson, following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in memory of Karen to your local church, Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, P.O. Box 39000, Colorado Springs, CO 80949 or Hillsdale College Scholarship Fund, 33 E. College St., Hillsdale, MI 49242.
