GARRETT - Marilyn S. Swank, age 88, of Garrett, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn, Indiana.
She was born on March 22, 1937, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Lester and Myrtle (Loney) Clevenger.
She was a 1955 graduate of Garrett High School.
Marilyn worked for The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in Fort Wayne for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Following her time at Lincoln Life, Marilyn enjoyed working at Walmart in Auburn for 10 years.
She loved putting puzzles together and her home was full of completed puzzles from over the years. She also collected owls, angles and chickens. She liked birds of all kinds, especially cardinals. Marilyn also enjoyed going shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Cielo Swank, of Garrett; daughters, Deborah Isham, of Waterloo and Jamie Cagley and Kenny Moffett, of Bryan, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Meghan Clifford, Brooke Swank (Nick Cope), Logan and Kati Swank, Britney and Chris Erwin, Ashley Cagley (Richard Clark), Christina Swank and Nathan Swank; eight great-grandchildren, Jaelynn, Twon, Ryder, Vince, Chenelle, Paislynn, Iris and Wylin; brother and sister-in-law, John and Carolyn Clevenger, of Auburn.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jack Clevenger, Fred Clevenger and Sam Clevenger; and one sister, Ester Parker.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from noon to 2 p.m., at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., in Waterloo.
Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Robert Craig officiating.
Burial will take place at Waterloo Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Marilyn, to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
