KENDALLVILLE - Marion Becker, age 78, of rural Kendallville, Indiana, passed away at home on Monday, April 15, 2024.
Marion was born in Lisbon, Indiana, on July 25, 1945, son of the late Everett Eugene Becker and Mary Elizabeth (Ross) Becker.
He graduated from Avilla High School in 1963.
Marion was a welder by trade. He owned and operated Heign Welding in Kendallville for 30 years.
He married Kathryn Ann Kammerer on May 19, 1973, in Kendallville. Kathy preceded him in death on Aug. 23, 2006.
Marion loved fishing and drinking beer. He enjoyed woodworking, campfires, the outdoors and time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his sons, Andrew and Amanda Becker, of Kendallville and Robert and Amy Becker, of Kendallville; daughter, Brittany and Roy Calderon, of Laredo, Texas; four grandchildren Athena Calderon, Cassian Calderon, Atticus Calderon, and Ethan Becker;
and brother, Scott Becker, of Kendallville.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mary Becker; his wife, Kathy Becker; daughter, Anne Christine Becker; and brother, Tom Becker.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 3-6 p.m., at Hite Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Hite Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Albaugh officiating.
Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, near Corunna.
