Martha Newman Obituary

ANGOLA — Martha Ann Newman, 59, of Angola, formerly of Terre Haute passed away on Jan. 29, 2014, at her home in Angola after a long-term illness.
She was born in Terre Haute on Aug. 15, 1954, to Robert and Martha (Kearschner) Bailey. Martha was a graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute, had spent many years caring for others as a nurse, most recently at Westminster Village in Terre Haute, loved spending time with her family, her dog Zisa, watching movies and traveling. She was a member of Fairview Missionary Church in Angola.
She was preceded in death by her mother Martha Bailey.
She is survived by her husband Rick Newman of Angola; her three sons, Jim (Megan) Richardson of Terre Haute; Joseph (Ingrid) England of Nicholasville, Ky.; and Jesse Bridges of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Chelsea Richardson, Elizabeth England, Brianna England and one great-grandson, Damion Corona.
Martha was also blessed to have a very special relationship with her aunt, Leona Hoskins of Farmersburg and her life-long friend, Cathy Ellington of Sullivan.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Holmes Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn.
