KENDALLVILLE - Martin McDonald of Kendallville, Indiana, passed away on Aug. 14, 2025.
Martin was born on Sept. 3, 1953, in Wolf Lake, Indiana, to Elizabeth "Betty" (Raubert) Peterson.
After graduating from West Noble High School in 1972, he soon married Gloria Stiffner, of Ligonier on Nov. 30, 1974. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
Martin entered the printing industry, working at R. R. Donnelley for 42 years, before retiring from there in 2017. Martin also honorably served the community with 41 years of dedicated service on the Ligonier Fire Department.
He also attended South Milford Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria McDonald, of Kendallville; sons, James (Angie) McDonald, of Ligonier, Paul (Amy) McDonald, of Evanston, Illinois, and Barry (Mandy) McDonald, of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Austin McDonald, Jacelynn McDonald, Paige McDonald, Natalie McDonald, Porter McDonald, Ellis McDonald and Brooklynn McDonald; mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Peterson, of Ligonier; sister, Barbara (Keith) Leatherman, of Albion; brother, Frank McDonald, of Ligonier; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a funeral service following at 3 p.m., at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St., Kendallville.
Pastor Brian Walter will officiate the service.
Following the funeral service, an Indiana Volunteer Firefighter's Association memorial service will take place to recognize Martin's 41 years of service on the Ligonier Fire Department.
