Mary Maggert Obituary

AUBURN - Mary Elizabeth Maggert, age 58, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

She was born on Jan. 13, 1965, in Garrett, Indiana, to Zack and Opal (Banks) Fugate.

Mary worked as a CNA at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn for 20 years, where she earned her nickname, Bossy. She loved her cigarettes and Diet Pepsi.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron and Aja Fugate, of LaGrange, Chad Fugate (Lacey Stutzman), of Angola and William and Jessica Maggert, of Fort Wayne; daughter, Talisha Maggert, of Auburn; numerous grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce Cook, of Kentucky, Anita and Luke Rhodes, of Avilla and Chris Voirol, of Butler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rudell Fugate and John Fugate; three sisters, Beatrice McPherson, Helen Voirol and Lola Clair; and brother-in-law, Ed Cook.

There are no services to be held at this time.
