GARRETT- Michael Robert Baker Jr., 30, of Garrett, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025.
Michael had a smile that would light up a room, the best sense of humor, and a deep love and loyalty for his wife, family, and his many friends. His laugh was infectious and one of a kind.
He enjoyed fishing, working on his car, his many tattoos, and especially listening to music. He had a cat, Mia Jade, that he loved dearly. But what he enjoyed the most was just spending all the time he could with his loved ones. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, and uncle. Family meant everything to him.
Michael was able to give the gift of life through the selfless act of organ donation. He had a huge heart for others.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1994, in Auburn, Indiana.
His mother, Wendy Joy (Albright) Baker, survives in Garrett; and his father and stepmother, Michael Robert (Aeneva) Baker Sr., survive in Auburn.
Michael is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Julia Nicole (Dewitt) Baker. They were married on Oct. 17, 2020. in Auburn.
Also surviving are two stepsons; three sisters and a brother, Jasmine Albright, of Garrett, Samantha (Phillip Amburgey) Baker, of Garrett, Vienna Baker, of Auburn and Josiah Baker of Ohio; nephews and nieces, Ethan Albright, Bella Albright-Costanzo, McKenna Amburgey, Wyatt Michael Amburgey, Abby Amburgey and Avery Amburgey; grandmother, Sandy Albright, of Garrett; and grandparents, Marshall and Linda Brumbaugh, of Garrett; father and mother-in-law, Richard "Butch" Sr. and Deb Kester, of Auburn; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Sam Albright.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, IN 46706.
Burial will follow the service at Sedan Cemetery, Corunna, Indiana.
Calling is two hours prior to the service on Monday from noon to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be given in memory of Michael to Feller and Clark Funeral Home to help with expenses.
