AUBURN - Neil H. Wisler, 90, died on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at Sacred Heart in Avilla, Indiana.
He was born on March 9, 1935, in St. Joe, Indiana, son of the late Cecil G. and Margarette H. (Hamilton) Wisler.
He married Mary L. Klopfenstein on July 26, 1963, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 2007.
Surviving are his daughter, Susan Schowe, of Huntertown, Indiana; grandchildren, Cecilia Schowe, of Troy, Michigan, Madeline Schowe, of Huntertown, Indiana, and Olivia Schowe, of Indianapolis, Indiana; son-in-law, Michael Starkey, of Auburn, Indiana; and sister, Cynthia (Robert) Jarrett, of St. Joe, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by a son, Basil Wisler; daughter, Julie Starkey; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tondalaya (James) Miller and Darlene (Robert) Miller; and nephews, Leonard Jarrett and Anthony Miller.
He was a civil engineer and worked as the Superintendent of the Water Pollution Plant for the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He loved old cars, swap meets, antiques and flea markets. He enjoyed eating a good meal and watching old Westerns and car restoration shows. His greatest joy was his granddaughters and spending time with his family. He was a very proud grandfather and father.
Calling will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon, with services following at noon, at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville, Indiana.
Burial will be at Leo Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
