Richard McCart

NEW HAVEN — Richard E. "Dick" McCart Sr., 76, of New Haven, died suddenly May 23, 2017, at his summer home near Upper Long Lake in Noble County. He was born to James and Ruth-Morris McCart in Chattam, Ontario, Canada. The family moved to Fort Wayne when Richard was an infant. He graduated from North Side High School. In 1968, he married Brenda Hardiek McNamara. Richard was sales manager for Kunkle Valve and was purchasing agent for ACS Manufacturing. He was a member of the Navy Club, Eagles and Moose.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Brenda Hardiek McNamara McCart of New Haven; his son, Richard E. McCart Jr. and grandson Nicholas McCart of Lanesville, Indiana; his sister, Susan McCart Raver (Robert) Soloman of Bokeelia, Florida; his niece Allison Raver (Thomas) Nütten and his nephew Bryson (Claire) Raver of Tampa, Florida.
Also surviving are his brothers-in-law, Edward David (Karen) Hardiek Sr. of Angola, Indiana, and their children Teri Hardiek (Keith) Lebo, E. David (Belinda) Hardiek Jr., and Becky Hardiek with companion John Barnes; Michael Hardiek Sr. of Roanoke, Indiana, and children Christine (Gary) Bratmueller, Michael (Shannon) Hardiek Jr., Marcus (Amy) Hardiek, Andrew (Andrea) Hardiek, Nicholas (Rosa) Hardiek and Norman Hardiek with fiancee Theresa Fagan; and Judson Raver of Tampa, Florida, with companion Deborah Pollick.
Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Sharon Hardiek (Robert) Klunk of Grand Island, Florida, and their children John (Chris deceased) Klunk, Marcy (Ebon) Stanford, and Kurt (Sarah) Klunk; Linda Hardiek Bloemker Pick died within weeks after him and is survived by companion Dick Brightbill of Summerfield, Florida, and her children Debra Bloemker, Vickie Bloemker Allison with companion William Dodson, and Mark (Dodie) Bloemker.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Billy McNamara Jr.; his parents; his brother-in-law, Ted Bloemker; his nephew, Rex Bloemker; his sister-in-law, Anna Bontempo Vebert Hardiek, and her son Chris Vebert.
Calling will be at D.O. McComb Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, on July 14 from 2-5:30 p.m. A memorial service will take place at 5:30 p.m., presided by Reverend Bob Chapman.
