ANGOLA - Timothy Raymond Bunge Sr., age 63, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at St. John's Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan.
He was born July 9, 1955, in Monroe, Michigan, to the late Chester J. and Elaine T. (Herman) Bunge.
He was dearly loved and surrounded by his family as he went home to be with the Lord.
He married Beverly R. (Brown) Bunge on February 4, 1984, in Monroe, Michigan, and she survives in Angola.
He was previously employed with GM, and then pursued his passion of owning J.T. Auto Body and Cruisin Auto Sales. Family and the racing community were his passions. He and his family were awarded Family of the Year 1991 of the Monroe, Michigan, Jaycees. They also won 1st place haunted house of the State of Michigan Jaycees. He loved to race and work on race cars. Tim and Beverly assisted on the safety crew at Flat Rock, Michigan, Speedway and others. He enjoyed being at many racetracks including Angola Speedway. He truly loved spending time with his wife, children, especially his grandchildren and all his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Bunge; two brothers, Lee (Debbie) Bunge, Lasalle, Michigan, and Rick (Kathy) Bunge, Temperance, Michigan; one sister, Karen Bijarro, St. Clair, Illinois; his children, Victoria (Jerry) Ames, Kingsley, Michigan, Jason (Cynthia) Brooks, Monroe, Michigan, Kimberly (Russell) McClain, Fremont, Timothy (Joya) Bunge II, Angola, and Heather (Brandon Grayson) Bunge, Angola; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and many more family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West St. Angola, Indiana. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Officiating the services will be Jerry Van Blarcum of Coldwater, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to Beverly Bunge.
