Christa LaDawn Wilson

Christa Wilson 56, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024 in Kansas City, KS. She was born October 25, 1968 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Tama and Leslie Auten. She graduated from Benton High School Class of 1986, and went on to get her BSN at Missouri Western State University. Christa worked at several area nursing homes and hospice facilities, including Kendallwood, Three Rivers Hospice and Saxton Care Chateau. She was a very talented vocalist who loved to perform and was apart of many ensembles including Benton Singers and the plays, as well as the Missouri Western Community Choir. Christa was also member of Abundant Faith Church of God. Christa was preceded in death by father, Leslie Albert Auten, and husband, Jimmy Wilson. Survivors include mother, Tama Auten of St. Joseph, MO, sister, Dana (Jon) Haywood of Caruthersville, MO, sons, Chandler (Emily) Green of Saint Joseph, MO, and Larry Laroy Sample of Chattanooga, TN, nephews, Spencer (Lauren), Casey (Amanda), and Taylor (Brittany) Haywood. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Abundant Faith Church of God. Funeral service and public live stream at 11:00 AM. The Inurnment will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery, at a later date. Memorials are requested to the Abundant Faith Church of God.
