Debbie Huntsman Obituary

Deborah Jane Huntsman went to be with the Lord in her eternal home on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Debbie was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to K.J. "Jerry" and Frances (Brown) Huntsman on November 12, 1951. She loved growing up on the farm just outside of Maitland, Missouri. Debbie graduated from Nodaway-Holt High School in Graham and then received an associate's degree from Northwest Missouri State University. She spent most of her career working in the field of mental health, retiring from that position with the State of Missouri at Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center after 28 years of service. After retiring Debbie started caring for Joanie and Charlotte Gillies while their parents worked, and they became such a joy in her life. She also loved delivering flowers for Village Flowers, later becoming Hy-Vee Flowers by Rob. Debbie was a member of the Grace Evangelical Church, where she loved giving back to others. She was a member of the Hands of Grace Committee, reaching out to others in the community. Debbie was also on the Singles Repurposed Group Committee. She loved helping with Backpack Buddies through Second Harvest and volunteering at the Noyes Home. Debbie also helped with the Cancer Care Ministry and Pastoral Care Ministry at Grace Evangelical. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Frances Huntsman, as well as many beloved pets. She is survived by her sister, Kay Huntsman; her brothers, Bill (Dawn) Huntsman and Robert Huntsman; her niece, Tenille Costner; nephew, Lee Costner; great nephews, Derek Holman, Brett Holman, and Leyton Costner; and great nieces, Kristina Holman and Kadence Costner. She loved her family very much! In memory of Debbie, she would like for everyone to tell their loved ones how much you love them. Give back as much as possible, because we are blessed with the gift of life each day. Services: Monday, July 14, 2025, 2:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials: Grace Evangelical Church. To plant Memorial Trees in memory of Debbie J.
