Delbert Richardson Obituary

Delbert Richardson, 86, of St. Joseph MO, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 at his son's home in Wichita, KS. He was born October 18, 1937 in Moberly, MO, son of Thomas and Sarrah Richardson. He graduated from Moberly High School. On July 8, 1960, he married Alice Hickman. Delbert served in the United States Air Force, and later retired from the Missouri Air National Guard,139th Airlift Wing after 42 years of service. He worked at Orscheln Truck Lines as a Terminal Manager. Delbert was a longtime member and Deacon of McCarthy Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching the KC Royals Baseball, the KC Chiefs Football, and going to his Church. Delbert was preceded in death by wife, Alice Irene Richardson in 2022, his parents, and 5 siblings. Survivors include: sons, Paul (Barbara) Richardson of Wichita, KS, Peter (Dorothy) Richardson of Stratford, NJ, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 sibling, Ruby Gladys (Richardson) Olson of Umatilla FL. Funeral Service with Military Honors will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Rupp Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 Saturday. Mr. Richardson will be cremated following services. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation at lymphoma.org.
