Rosemary Tunks Obituary

Rosemary Tunks, 94, of Savannah, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, leaving behind her loving family. Rosemary was born on April 6, 1931, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, to the late Raymond and Mildred (Simmons) Lemaster. She graduated from King City High School in 1949 and obtained her Missouri cosmetology license. On November 28, 1952, Rosemary married Asa John Tunks in the Christian Church Parsonage, King City, Missouri. They lived in King City and Savannah areas for most of their lives and celebrated sixty-four years of marriage before Asa passed away on July 2, 2017. Rosemary was a devoted wife and mother, and retired from the food service department at Minnie Cline School after twenty-seven years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Savannah and the Andrew County Senior Center. Rosemary had a remarkable talent for crafts and was especially skilled in sewing, crocheting and quilting, creating beautiful handmade treasures. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking, those who enjoyed her gooseberry pies she brought to social dinners and bake sales will remember her fondly. She also took great pride in her garden and looked forward to her daily walks. In addition to her husband and parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her two sisters, Pauline Spiking and Karen Jacobsen. Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Marsha McAfee (Kenneth); son, Martin Tunks (Sherry); grandchildren, Nathan McAfee (Lauren), Nicholas McAfee (Sadara Evans), Tyler Tunks, Andrew Tunks (Ashley), Mitchell Tunks (Maddie); eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
