Willard Allen "Willie" Petitt

Willard "Willie" Petitt 64, of Cosby, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in aSt. Joseph, MO hospital. He was born October 3, 1960 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Beatrice Teaney and Jewel Petitt. He served in the United States Army, then married Belinda Hatheway on December 27, 1987, and she survives of the home. He worked at Missouri Iron and Metal, and Varco Pruden in St. Joseph. Willie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding four wheelers, searching for aliens and bigfoot. He was a Kansas City Chiefs football fan, he loved his animals, and spending time with his family. Willie was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: wife, Belinda Petitt of the home, daughters; Melissa (Tim) Sigrist, and Cassie Petitt (Cole Taylor) both of Savannah, MO, son, David Petitt, Cosby, MO, brother, Gary Petitt, grandchildren, Zane, Wess, Tessa, Domaniq, Emily, Lilly, Kaylee, Taylor, and Wyatt, and great grandbaby, Aze. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 pm on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Leanna VanZandt Nauman officiating. The Interment will be at the Bethel Cemetery in Cosby, MO. Memorials are requested to the Willie Petitt Memorial Fund in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
