He passed away Monday June 9th at his home near Wayne. Memorials may be directed to David's Family for later designation. David Wayne Beckman was born December 9, 1954, in Wakefield to James Russel and Helen Anna (Gathje) Beckman. He was Baptized on January 9, 1955 and Confirmed on March 22, 1970 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne. Following his graduation from Wayne High School in 1973, he moved to California to work. He later returned to Wayne and began working at Heritage Homes, retiring after 40 years. He loved his time spent with family and friends and following his beloved Huskers Football team. Survivors include his sisters, Ellen Carlson of Wakefield, Sharon (Dan) Gustafson of Wakefield, Karen Pagels of Golden, CO, and LaVon Anderson of Wakefield; one sister-in-law, Cindy Beckman of Wayne; one uncle, Harlan (Judy) Gathje of Pender; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. David was preceded in death by his parents, James Russel and Helen Anna; brothers, Duane and Dennis; brothers-in-law, Tom Anderson, Dennis Carlson and Melvern Pagels.
