Mass of Christian Burial for Imelda M. Spenner age 84 of Dodge, NE will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE. A luncheon will follow in the Parish Hall with interment after at the St. Boniface Cemetery-Monterey. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge and will continue one hour prior to the service. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting with the arrangements. Imelda passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Methodist Fremont Health in Fremont, NE. Imelda Marie Spenner was born on July 29, 1941 on the home place in rural Cuming County, NE to Joseph and Elizabeth (Birchem) Spenner. She attended St. Boniface Catholic School and Guardian Angels High School. Imelda held several jobs, she helped in homes when mothers had their babies, Wimmers Meat Products in Dodge, Humlicek's Furniture Store, and at the Parkview Home in Dodge for over 25 years. She also cleaned St. Wenceslaus Church and Rectory for several years. Imelda was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents-Joseph and Elizabeth, sisters-Sr. Mechtilda Spenner and Sr. Evangeline Spenner, brother-Edward Spenner, brother-in-law-Lonnie Dean, and nephews-Patrick Suhr and Hall Dean. Imelda is survived by brothers-Vincent and Theresa Spenner of West Point, Raymond Spenner, Martin Spenner, and James Spenner of Dodge, and David Spenner of Omaha; sisters-Philomena and Norman Dubsky of Schuyler, Veronica and Daniel Suhr of West Point, Coletta and Kenneth Widhalm of Dodge, Mildred Spenner and Burnadette Spenner of Dodge, Sr. Marietta Spenner of Colorado Springs, CO, and Eileen Dean of Kingsland, TX, along with nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
