James “Jim” Michael Berberich, a gifted stained glass painter whose artistry illuminated countless spaces and lives, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at 67. Born on September 23, 1957, in Atherton, CA. Jim established The Stained Glass Workshop in Parker, SD, transforming glass into breathtaking works for churches, residences, and businesses.
Later in life, Jim found joy in teaching stained glass painting, generously inspiring new artists. Beyond his profound artistic contributions, he loved riding his motorcycle, kayaking and spending time with his grandchildren. A man of deep faith, he continuously sought to deepen his understanding of Christianity. Jim’s presence was a source of warmth and inspiration to all who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved children Nathan, Sarah, and Mandie; his adored grandchildren Phoenix, Parker, Talon, Izaak, Preslie, Brooks, and Lola; and his surviving siblings David, Lois, Nancy, Sheryl, and Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Shirley Berberich, and his brother Mark. Jim will be dearly missed by a community profoundly touched by his artistry and kind spirit.
Our Father was a source of peace, love and strength for us. In his life he taught us about God, life and loss. He tried to guide us to eventually live without him but nothing could prepare us for the unbearable loss.
Although he lived his life excited to finally walk with God, we are navigating his passing with care, and taking time with family. If you would like to be notified of a service please feel free to write or email us and we will be sure to reach out with the date when the time comes. Thank you for your grace and understanding.
