Usinger, Lois Dahlstrom Our mother, granny, great-granny lived her life with charm, grace and curiosity. February 23, 1921 - July 24, 2014 Lois was born in Rogers Park, IL. She attended Sullivan High School and DePauw University. She was an Alpha Phi and music (piano) major. Lois was married to Frederick Usinger for 66 years until his death in 2006. Lois loved gardening and cooking and was a beautiful knitter and stitcher. She loved reading all types of literature and was particularly fond of English mystery writers. With her great memory she could name and sing countless old tunes, enjoyed the Lawrence Welk show, and was a great old movies buff. She was always ready to travel whether exploring different US destinations or Europe. She enjoyed being a Milwaukee Kiltie and curling bonspiels. Her volunteer involvements through the years were substantial; ranging from board positions to general volunteer activities. A few highlights were Friends of the Milwaukee Public Museum, Woman's Exchange, the Florentine Opera and the Junior League. Lois is survived by her children: Karen Schnetzky, Barbara Becker (Stephen), Heidi Maetzold, Fritz Usinger (Nicki), and the late Debra Usinger (Joe Kujawa). Grand and great-grand children: Scott and Kate Schnetzky, Wendy and Donald Atchison (Enzo, Aeli), Rick and Kelley Schnetzky (Nickolaus, Alyssandra, Ashley), Andy and Kelly Becker (Drake, Lucy Blue, Everett), Jeff and Carrie Becker (Jack), Laura Maetzold, Christopher and Amanda Maetzold (Austin), Emily and Gabriela Usinger.
