Thomas Ricketts Obituary
He was born on March 14, 1943, to Thomas and Harriet Ricketts in East Chicago. Thomas married Diane Beyers in 1971. They had a loving 53 years together.
As a husband devoted to Diane, their love and companionship were the foundation of their family. Together, they raised two children, instilling in them values of integrity, hard work, and faith. He was an avid outdoorsman and enthusiast. Hunting, RC flying, drag racing, and NASCAR were some things he had a passion for. When Thomas was not hunting or racing, he also loved attending classic car shows and bluegrass festivals. He shared his home with many dogs over the years, each one a cherished companion and part of the family. Thomas was a devoted member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Wheatfield, living his faith daily and inspiring those around him with his kindness and honesty.
Thomas will be remembered for his big personality, guitar picking, unwavering loyalty, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, passion, and unwavering faith.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Ricketts; children, Brad (Paula) Ricketts and Sarah (Ronnie) Gray; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Taylor, Alex, and Devin, and great-grandchildren, Kinslee and Oaklynn.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Harriet Rickett; his daughter, Kathleen; and grandson, Joshua.
A visitation will be held at Jackson Funeral Service in Demotte on Thursday, June 19 from 5 – 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Pentecostal Church of God in Wheatfield on Friday, June 20 at 11a.m. with burial to follow at Wheatfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
