Juanita Stewart Obituary

Juanita Stewart, 97, of Charles City, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Oakwood Cemetery in Floyd with Jan Tjaden officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Floyd Grace United Methodist Church. Juanita Maxine (Raymond) Stewart was born in Fertile, Iowa on March 24, 1928, to George and Amy (Humphrey) Raymond. She graduated from Floyd High School in 1945. Juanita was united in marriage to Truman Stewart on December 18th, 1946, in Charles City and were blessed with 70 years of marriage. Juanita enjoyed baking, refinishing furniture, and crafting. She is survived by her four children: Robert A. (Vernette) Stewart of Ionia, Randall L. (Barbara) Stewart of Newton, Amy Lou (Thomas) Hagarty of Charles City, and Brent (Karin) Stewart of Pleasant Hill; seven grandchildren: Tina, Dustin, Nickolas, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Jessica, and Derrick; five great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Mikayla, Alexandria, Naomi, and Hailey; along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Amy; husband, Truman Stewart; brothers, Dale and Burrell Raymond; and sister, Fay Vance.
