Keith Knight Obituary
SHELLSBERG: Keith Knight, 54, of Shellsburg, Iowa, passed away September 27th, 2025.
Keith was born on October 17, 1970, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the son of Marvin and Carol (Spanbauer) Knight. He married Lisa (Blake) Knight on October 20th, 1990, and together they built a beautiful life and family.
Keith was raised in Oshkosh, where he grew up farming and was an avid Boy Scout. He earned the highest honor of Eagle Scout before graduating from Lourdes Academy in 1989. Shortly after, he completed training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate aboard the USS Knox/Mount Vernon. He was stationed in Long Beach, California, from 1989 to 1993.
In 1994, Keith planted roots in Shellsburg, Iowa, where he worked for 25 years at Penford Products Co. while raising three children.
Keith was immensely proud of his children and spoke of them often; they were the joy of his life. There weren't too many conversations where he didn't talk about his children and his land of rolling hills, he was proud of. Known for his kind heart, helpful nature, and tireless work ethic, Keith left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Most recently, he worked at Lutheran Living Communities in Vinton, Iowa, where he treasured his time with the residents and valued the many conversations he shared with them.
Keith is survived by his wife, Lisa, of Shellsburg, IA; his children Alisha (Chris) Blattler of Shellsburg, IA, Zackary Knight of Garrison, IA, and Krystal (Josh) Bervid of Newhall, IA; two brothers, Kevin (Erin) Knight of Appleton, WI, and Kirk (Jeanne) Knight of Oshkosh, WI; eight beloved grandchildren, Breezzy, Maya, Sylvia, Ivy, Lucille, Lumiere, Caleb, and Carmyn; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Carol Knight; Father-in-Law, Lawson Chandler Blake Jr.
Keith will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, his love for Green Tractors, Red Chevy and Ford trucks, the Green Bay Packers, and the kindness he showed to everyone around him. His legacy lives on in the love he gave and the lives he touched.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
