Born on August 19, 1948, to Vernon and Martha (Schwickerath) Sinnwell, Linda was born into a large farm family eventually having nine brothers and sisters.
Linda's early years were shaped by working on the farm near Nashua with her brothers and sisters. Their work included anything from unloading wagons, milking cows, feeding chickens and any other chore that was set before them.
Linda was a graduate of Nashua High School where she met the love of her life, Larry Haut. On June 4, 1967, Linda and Larry were married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Nashua. Their union was blessed with two children, JoAnne Mary and Kenneth Larry. Together, Larry and Linda shared a passion for attending toy shows, where they delighted in adding to their collection of Barbies and toy wreckers. This shared hobby was just one of the many joyful pursuits that Linda and Larry enjoyed together until his passing.
Linda also volunteered on the Nashua Ambulance service along with her husband, Larry. She enjoyed being able to help the community and met many lifelong friends working alongside people on the ambulance crew.
Professionally, Linda's career started by working at St. John's Lutheran Church in Nashua where she worked part time so that she was able to attend her children's sporting events. When her children were older, she began working full-time at the Charles City hospital in the billing department. She held that position for over 20 years.
Linda's interests extended beyond her professional life into her grandchildren. She was their most ardent supporter, attending as many of their sporting events as possible, her presence was a constant source of encouragement. Shopping trips with her grandsons were special occasions, as she indulged them with gifts, took them out to eat and brought them home with lots of memories, full of food and very spoiled.
Those who knew Linda knew that she liked to spend time with family and friends. She was always willing to help when someone needed assistance. Although the last few years of her life were difficult, as she fought a long hard battle, she passed away quietly and comfortably with family around her.
Linda is survived by her son Ken (Cathy) Haut of Plainfield; daughter JoAnne (Tom) Madden of Osage; brothers: Charlie Sinnwell of Kasson, MN, Jim Sinnwell of Charles City, Leonard Sinnwell of Ionia, Randy (Karen) Sinnwell of Nashua, Rick (Sue) Sinnwell of Ionia, and Craig (Teffany) Sinnwell of Charles City; sisters: Marge Husak of Grinnell, Jane (Lloyd) Stauffer of Greene, and Barb Sinnwell of Ionia; grandchildren: Taylor (Kelli) Haut, Kennedy (Colton Howell) Haut, Tanner (Alexa Cline) Haut, Jacob (Kaylyn Lionberger) Wihlm, Nathan (Kelsi) Wihlm, and Tommy Madden; three great grandchildren, Rhylan, Averi and Audri, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Martha (Schwickerath) Sinnwell; and husband, Larry Haut.
