Robert John Meyer

HANNIBAL, MO: Robert John Meyer, age 78, of Hannibal, MO, formerly of Hiawatha, died Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, also at the Funeral Home. Interment with graveside military rites will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Robert was born on November 26, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lawrence and June (Barr) Meyer. He graduated from Jefferson High School with the class of 1964. Robert served his Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam war, attaining the rank of SP5. He was united in marriage to Dr. Donna (Severin) on September 7, 1990, in Cedar Rapids. Robert worked as a book binder with Russell's Guides for many years. The couple moved to Mt. Vernon, MO to set up Donna's Chiropractic Practice in 1998 and then moved to Hannibal in 2018 when they retired. Robert loved the outdoors, bow hunting, boating and riding his Harley were favorite activities. He took up woodworking later in life and became an accomplished craftsman. He is survived by his wife Donna of Hannibal; children, Kale Meyer, Mindy (Tony Holub) Meyer, Heath (Michele) Kusel, Heather Kusel; grandchildren, Austin Wiesenhofer, McKensy Wiesenhofer, Kesha (Joey) Armstrong, Chase Kusel and Zach Kusel; daughter-in-law, Beth Kusel; and his brother Larry (Charmon) Meyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and June; in-laws, Don and Lela Severin; and son Stacey Kusel.
