Amanda Hodge Wemhoff Obituary

Obituary of Amanda Louise Hodge Wemhoff Amanda Louise Hodge-Wemhoff "Moo" (46) passed away on April 28, 2025, at Sacred Heart Medical Center with her loving tribe by her side. She was born to Ronald and Linda (Johnson) Hodge on May 25, 1978, in Coeur d' Alene, ID. Mandy grew up in St. Maries, ID and enjoyed many things a small-town girl could participating in athletics, dance, and art. Art was a passion of Mandy's, and she was extremely talented. She could paint, draw, sculpt, and color anything and everything. She graduated St. Maries High School with the class of 1996. Following her schooling, she attended North Idaho College in their Art program. Although talented and pulling good grades, she decided school was not for her and left the program. In January 1999 she was blessed with her beautiful daughter Kayla, and shortly after Kayla was born, she joined her life with Tim Wemhoff. Mandy stayed with her mother for a bit for some help with her daughter, but then Tim took Kayla on as his own, joining his 2 kids Caylan and Tanner with Mandy, and the small family made their home in St. Maries. In 2004 the couple had their son Gavin, making a full house. Looking for change, Mandy moved to Post Falls, ID with her 2 children and went to work for Big Lots. After a year of being away from Tim and his boys, she knew she wanted to settle down back in St. Maries, so she returned home. April of 2007 Mandy went to work for Regulus Stud Mills, Inc. in the Planer and worked her way up from there. She was dedicated and well loved. Stimson Lumber acquired the mill, and she worked for them up until 2021 at both the St. Maries and Plummer plants. She then became one of the helpful hardware folks at Hughe's Ace Hardware. Illness forced her to leave this job, and she was never able to return to work. She did, however, put her talents back to work with her art, and she began working with pottery when she was able. When she wasn't working with her pottery wheel, she was spending time with her grandkids whom she dedicated the last couple of years of her life to. Mandy loved and adored her friends, and she especially liked to have a good time. She used to grow a big garden and learned to can from her neighbor Carol Hanson. She enjoyed canning, but pickled asparagus and dilly beans were some of her favorite things to can. At times she enjoyed the woods on a side by side or 4-wheeler and picking huckleberries but being on the water was more her style. She loved to camp at Wemhoff's property at Oxbow, swim and boat in the lake, float the St. Joe, and fish whether it was off a bank, trestle, or dock. In 2022 Tim and Mandy divorced; however, they remained friends, and she could still count on him for whatever she needed. Mandy is survived by her children Kayla Hodge of Coeur d' Alene, ID, Gavin (Serenity) Wemhoff of St. Maries, ID; bonus children Caylan (Nichole) Wemhoff and their children Abbi, Rylynn, and Sawyer of St. Maries, ID and Tanner (Jordan) Wemhoff and their children Bentlee and Wylie of Spokane, WA; father and bonus mom Ronald and Molli Hodge of St. Maries, ID; sister Carrie (Stacey) Nordin of St. Maries, ID; nephew Brenden Nordin of St. Maries, ID; numerous bonus nieces and nephews; Uncle Jim and Aunt Doreen Hodge of Kalispell, MT and Aunt Marcia (Dick) Morris of St. Paul, MN; Montana Cousins, Minnesota Cousins, and her shirt tail cousins whom were some of her bestest friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Linda Hodge; great-grandmother Edith Osbun; grandparents Bill and Ginger Hodge and Gordon and Leah Johnson. In honor of Mandy's lifelong love for the color purple, we ask that you join her family in wearing your best purple attire to her service, as she would love that. Her family would like to also give a shout out and a huge thank you her best friends turned caregivers Natasha Lankford and Jessie Barden for the help received over the last few years, we couldn't have done it without you girls! A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 am at the St. Maries Nazarene Church Gymnasium. A gathering of family and friends to share a meal will follow at the church. Mandy will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in a private graveside with her family. Memorial contributions would be appreciated for the Benewah Veteran's Memorial, c/o Sara Sexton Benewah County Treasurer, 701 College Ave., St. Maries, ID 83861.
