Dorene Bailey Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce Dorene's passing. Dorene was born in Stanley, ND to Valdemer and Myrtle Olson. The family then moved to Dishman WA, where she graduated from West Valley HS and worked at Behm's' Valley Creamery. She met and married Ralph Beckham and had two sons, Gary and Curtis Beckham. Eventually, they divorced. Her and the boys moved to Davis CA. There, she worked for The Sacramento Bee, met and married Donald Bailey, eventually moving to Susanville, CA. Dorene then worked for the USPS until she retired in 1989. She loved snow birding to Lake Havasu, golfing, crafting and just enjoying her retirement. She returned to Spokane with the passing of Donald where she could be with family and friends until her passing. Dorene was preceded in death by her father and mother, sister Bevely Olson and brother Terry (Dianne) Olson and survived by sons Gary and Curtis (Sarah) Beckham, brothers Rod (Sue) and Jeff Olson and grandchildren, Emily (Sid) and Andrew Beckham and her many cherished extended family members. Dorene was a fiercely independent woman with strong values that carried her throughout her life until her final breath.
