Dear Cindy and Jennifer. I received your Holiday card informing us of John's passing. Pam and I are still trying to soak it in. I hope you both are doing well as well can be under the circumstances. We were in the Air Force together as Medics in Enid, Oklahoma and later met up again as civilians and digging partners. He was really good at sniffing artifacts out. We were like brothers and then our careers took us away on different paths. John taught me many valuable lessons as my friend and how to push forward. I wish I could have saw him one more time to say goodbye. Peace to all of you John will be missed.

I write this with a broken heart, I sent a Christmas card to John and just received a reply from Cindy telling me about John's passing. He was one of my oldest friends, John talked me into joining Boy Scouts, Troop 44, Norfolk, Virginia when we were both 13 years old, we both achieved Eagle Scout rank. We became best of friends, I remember all those sleep over nights at our Parent's houses, and the fun we had together at Boy Scout summer camp. Our birthdays were one week apart. I am so heartbroken over this; my brain is racing with the cool things we did as teens, the camping trips, running track at Granby HS, John teaching me how to box, the list is endless.
