Kristopher David Granlund was born to David and Shannon Granlund on January 26, 1980, in Spokane, WA. He passed away on November 30, 2024, in Spokane after fighting cancer for 2 years. He graduated from Lakeside High School in Nine Mile Falls and obtained his AA degree in Fire Science from Spokane Community College. He was previously married twice, first to his high school sweetheart, Jessica (Foster), in 2002, and together they have a daughter, Isabella May. After divorcing, he found love again, and in 2009, he married Kathryn (Mortlock), and together they have a son, Elijah David. For 24 years, he worked at Costco, making many lifelong friends along the way. Kris loved all outdoor adventures, including motorcycle rides, hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. Most of all, Kristopher loved his children, Isabella and Elijah. He shared his love of the outdoors with them, making many memories of their various adventures, exploring new places, camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and kayaking. He played and loved baseball and passed that love to both kids, who were always involved in the sport as well.
Kris was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, David and May, maternal grandmother, Barbara, his father, David, and nephew, Caiden. He is survived by his daughter Isabella, his son Elijah, his mother Shannon, grandpa Rod, brother Nicholas, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He had friends by his side during the trials of cancer treatment, and the family is so grateful and comforted knowing he was loved on by Janet, Randy, Jacquie and his neighbors during these last two years. Many adventures were had, pictures were taken, and memories were made. He spent his last years making the most of what truly matters in life and was heartbroken to leave his kids so young.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 25th at Riplinger Funeral Home.
