Eddie Sheckles Obituary
He was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Fairfield to Skeel and Lizzie Hurst Sheckles. He was a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation, and a former employee of Mago Construction and Willett Distillery. He attended St. John A.M.E. Zion Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Bard Sheckles; two daughters, Carrie Pride and Margie Sheckles, both of Bardstown; a brother, Carl (Betty) Sheckles, of Bardstown; three grandchildren, Demetra Sheckles, Porscha Pride and Joshua Pride; and six great grandchildren, Caleb and Samuel Sheckles, Xavier Thompson, Daegan Sims, and Amiyah and Kaydence Littlejohn; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road with interment in Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Roscoe Linton will officiate.
Visitation will be noon Thursday until the time of the service.
Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I am going to miss you. With the loss of my mother you were there.Through the loss of mamma,uncle Jimmy, Aunt Mattie, Aunt Lou, Aunt Margie,Aunt Virginia, You were there. As they put their Arms around you, I know that your spirit is OK. As I look back at the games we played and laughter we had,I 0know that God has given me another holy spirit to watch over me.
