Paul Burress Obituary

Paul Daniel Burress Sr., 80, of Bardstown, formerly of Boston, died Friday, June 14, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was a farm and milk hand for more than 30 years retiring from Harvey and Wanda Hayden Dairy Farm in Boston. He was a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Bardstown. He was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Wenfall, Va, an army veteran of the Korean Conflict having received the purple heart ribbon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Hellrad Burress; a granddaughter, Madison Burress; his parents, John Thomas and Rose Ethel Lee Burress; eight brothers, Harvey Burress, Frankie Burress, Clyde Burress, Henry Burress, William Burress, Holbert Burress, Oliver Burress, Thomas Burress; and three sisters, Virginia Burress, Helen Buskill and Lila Wimmer.
Survivors include a son, Paul Daniel Burress Jr., of Bardstown; a daughter, Paula Ann Burress, of Hodgenville; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Bardstown with burial in the church cemetery with full military rites provided by the Marion County Honor Guard. The Rev. Freddie Riggs, pastor of Faith Worship Center in Bardstown, will officiate.
William Rust Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
