Bret Ringdahl Obituary
October 14, 2024
Dr. Bret Anders Ringdahl, PhD psychologist, 42 passed away on Oct. 14 of natural causes. Complications of cancer treatment, type 1 diabetes and cardiac arrest. Bret lived with chronic illnesses without complaint and tenacity to keep on going. He was kind hearted, smart and giving. Not a mean bone in his body. He was thoughtful and loving to many. His sense of humor was unparalleled. He was just so creatively funny.
Bret was born in Charlotte NC. A move to Lacrosse Wisconsin molded his adolescent years. He loved show choir, leads in musicals, piano recitals, the trumpet, snow and water skiing and riding his horse.
Bret graduated from NYU and majored in psychology. He finished his Master's program at St. Thomas University in Minneapolis. He completed his PhD at the University of Georgia. He helped a lot of people in his short life time with compassion and sensitivity.
Bret was a shining star who faded. If you knew him you would appreciate the gift you had received.
He is survived by Debbie and Tommy Ringdahl. He was preceded in death by his little brother Josh.

My sympathies to you on the passing of Bret. I was his teacher when you first moved to Onalaska. He was a bright, kind boy and I am sure he became a wonderful man. I had the pleasure of catching up with him several years ago at the wedding of mutual friend. It was a treat to see him and hear about his life. What a empty space he leaves to his family and friends. I hope in time, you can find comfort in memories. Sincerely - Lana Caldwell

I was fortunate to be in show choir with Bret, and also performed in musicals with him. He made rehearsals fun, and gave his all in every performance. I have many fond memories with Bret, and he will surely be missed.
