DeVerne Vig Obituary
Dr. DeVerne W.Vig, M.D.
VIROQUA - The Viroqua community sadly lost a pillar on January 19, 2021, when Dr. DeVerne W. Vig, fondly known as "Doc", passed away at the age of 98. His contributions to the area were founded in his 40 years of medical service along with his twin brother, David, and older brother, Edward. DeVerne is survived by three children; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a few lifelong friends. His legacy will live on with his love for poetry, golf, and the Wisconsin Badgers.
A gathering to honor DeVerne's dedication, work ethic, wisdom, wit, and humility will be held at Thorson-Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. followed by a time of sharing at 10:30 a.m. A private family burial with military honors will be in the Viroqua Cemetery.
A Celebration of DeVerne's Life will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Viroqua Hills Country Club.

To this day I try to explain my references to doctors in the Seattle area by the word "Doctor" followed by their first names. It's because of the service great humor of "Doctor DeVerne," "Doctor David" & "Doctor Eddy." How did we ever deserve the blessing on our community as these brothers?
