Eileen Ann Knitt
WESTBY - Eileen Ann Knitt, age 73, of Westby, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was born on January 22, 1949, in Vernon County to Elmer and Helen (Thoreson) Knitt. She attended Westby Schools and graduated from Viroqua High School. Following high school graduation, she began working at Vernon Manor as a kitchen aide for over 30 years.
Eileen enjoyed traveling to many places such as Egypt, the Holy Land, and many places in the United States. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby and enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years. She loved knitting and crafts, and made her family members many scarves and other keepsake items. Eileen was a very social person and loved to give hugs.
Survivors include her siblings: Bernice (Donald) Stalsberg of Viroqua, Tim Knitt of New Lisbon, LaVerne Brown of Holmen, George (Wanda) Eitland of Green Bay; nieces and nephews: Cheryl (David) Bean, Teri (Kevin) Mathison, Michael Knitt, Melissa Knitt, Jason (Tammy) Brown, Nathan Brown, and Preston (fiancee Heather Bowe) Eitland; several great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and friends.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents.
