Andrew Porter Obituary

PORTER Born on September 28, 1920, to William and Elizabeth Porter, in Ontario, Canada. Andy passed away December 26, 2008, in Burbank, California, surrounded by his family. A resident of Burbank for over 50 years, he grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan with his four siblings. Graduated from Royal Oak High School. As a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant he served in WWII and later obtained U.S. citizenship. Andy worked as carpenter for the county of Los Angeles, retired after 20 + years. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed woodworking, singing, telling stories and being a jokester. Andy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn; children, JoAnn (Porter) and Enrique Centeno, William and Debbie Porter, Susan (Porter) and Barney Dunn; siblings, William, Elizabeth and Jean; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and best friend, Ed Baker. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; and sister, Mary.
