Brother, I miss you calling me at least once a week so we could shoot the breeze. It's amazing how as you got older(heehee) we got closer. I miss hearing you laugh, talking about stuff you did/we did when you lived with us, growing up, your trips to the casinos, your dogs - we laughed so much - I will hold onto all those special memories.
It was hard to see you leave us but I'm so glad we were there with you. Keep giving Mom & Dad hugs & kisses for us & I'll see you all when I see ya.
Oh! one more thing, "Brother, I love you".

My Favorite picture of you!

Hijo,
You always laughed when I called you Hijo. You had so many names, Gordo, Tony or Art. We met when we were kids on Sharp and Fox. You became like another brother to me. You came to visit us at the store and Mom would always scold you about something. She warned you to stay away from the "doctors and attorneys". You always just laughed. You decided to join the Army to get away. You did two tours in Vietnam and then decided to get out. You came back "lost" for awhile but found your way.
You moved to Orange County and found your soul mate Marion. I always told you that was the luckiest day of your life. She was there with you through the good and bad times. Every time you came to visit your parents on Saturdays you stopped by to see me. You were always there for your parents. You were such a good son.
I took over my Mom's job of scolding you. You never knew how to say thank you and taught you that you don't "double-dip."
For your last birthday you told Marion you wanted to go back to San Fernando and spend a few days with us. I was so touched. I asked Marion "How can he even get on the plane?" She even had her doubts. But you made it! You wanted to go to the cemetery and visit your folks, go have lunch at Carrillo's and we even went to visit my twin Ronnie that was in the hospital fighting his sickness. Every movement was a struggle for you Gordo.
I will forever be so thankful to Marion for all the love and care she gave you. You were so blessed to have her.
We all miss and love you. Some day we will all be together again. Until then " no double-dipping Gordo..until we meet again."

Art...Who you claim? ;) Buddy I miss your jokes and talking to you. I'm glad I got to spend some time with you and go out to lunch the week before you left us. The kids and I always talk about uncle Art. I wish we had more time because you were a big part of our family. I know your in a better place now and I know I'll get to see you again one day. You'll always be in our hearts.

Here in the Autumn of our life, my Love, cruel Fate swoops in with sudden malice to steal away our Winter.
Desolate was I, camped beside your bed, holding your frail, chilled hand, hanging on to every laboured breath, praying for just one more lucid moment, one small smile, just one last word.....while your spirit wandered ever further into the night. Soon, they said, you would leave your ailing body.
And now you are gone and no tears nor tender touch can ever bring you back.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
