George Shaw Obituary

GEORGE CARLETON SHAW June 29, 1925 - Aug. 1, 2007 "Carl" was born in Bangor, Maine, the eldest son of Carleton B. and Margaret E. Shaw. Carl graduated in Bangor High's class of 1943. He was a Navy Seabee during World War II. Carl studied engineering at DeVry (Chicago), University of Maine, and MIT. He was a microwave engineer at Raytheon in Massachusetts and at several firms in California. In 1962, Carl was awarded a United States Patent for a microwave filter. He was married to Anna May for over 50 years and together raised three sons. In 1968, they settled in Winnetka and were members of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic church. Carl is survived by his wife, Anna May; s ons, Ronald, Brian (Rhonda), and Carleton; siblings, Peggy, Robert (Charlotte), Lucille (John), Paula, Michael (Jerry), and John (Ann); grandchildren, Patricia (Victor), Matthew, and Brendan; four great-grandchildren, and a large number of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated August 9, 2007, 11:00 am, in the San Fernando Mission Cemetery Chapel. Inurnment and reception will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested: Kaiser Permanente Hospice Program, 106 05 Balboa Blvd Suite 330, Granada Hills, CA 91344.
