Joseph Morigi Obituary
Age 82, passed away on December 25, 2014 following a lengthy illness.
Born July 14, 1932 in Gary, Indiana to Domenick and Mabel Morigi; loving husband of Annette Pensanti Morigi; adored father of Christine Morigi-Wolfe (Gary Wolfe) and Donn Joseph Morigi (Marlena Morigi); grandfather to Jenna, Nicolas, Rio, and Matthew; and uncle to many nieces and nephews including Tony Pensanti and Mary Pensanti Elisha (Dr. Joseph Elisha.) He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Donn and Marlena Morigi.
Joseph moved to California at the age of 14 and was thereafter a lifelong resident of the San Fernando Valley. He graduated from No. Hollywood High, joined the U.S. Navy, and attended UCLA. He was both a general contractor and a restaurateur, having owned Morigi's House of Pizza (Northridge, Chatsworth and No. Hollywood) for almost two decades.
Joseph held a private pilot's license, was a lifetime member of the NRA, and Ducks Unlimited, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Northridge on January 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in memoriam to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I never got to meet Mr. Morigi, but I will NEVER forget the delicious pizza they served at the Northridge restaurant. I have not found a pie since that comes even close to Morigi's. So, thank you Mr. Morigi for the wonderful meals. You are missed!

I remember Joe very well from many years ago when I worked for Dr. Salkin in North Hollywood.
They catered my wedding.
A lovely man and a wonderful family and I still use some of his mother's recipes that were gifted to me.

So sorry for your loss. Morigi's Pizza was on the corner where I lived in Chatsworth.We ate there at least once a month.Mr. Morigi was always nice and made sure we were well fed. Condolences to your family from ours.

Annette and family,
Joe was a very wonderful man and he touched my life in many ways. We used to talk before Mass and he always gave hugs. My husband, myself and my mom will miss him. He is now in heaven and having a wonderful journey with God. You will always be in my heart. Love you and will miss not seeing you around. Love you, Mary, Guy and Bea (mom)
