LEO DI PILLA Obituary

JANUARY 5, 1925 - JULY 22, 2011 Leo Di Pilla was born to Grace and Frank Di Pilla in Pittsburgh, PA. He attended Central Catholic High School and worked building ships to support the war effort during WWII. The family moved to Studio City, CA, in 1946. Leo studied the art of custom picture framing under a famous master. Later, he founded Frame Masters of California which became one of the most respected Custom Picture Framing manufacturers in the world. His creations are displayed at the Vatican, the White House, and other renowned venues around the world. Leo had a delightful sense of humor and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was generous and kind to everyone he met. He was a parishioner at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for 65 years and served as an usher. Leo is survived by his loving sister, Phyllis Loffarelli. He was more than an uncle to his six nephews, three nieces, seven great nephews, eight great nieces, and two great great nephews. Leo was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Charles Di Pilla. Services will be held at San Fernando Mission Cemetery and Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary. The Rosary will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31st, and the Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, August 1st. Directors 818-361-7387
