Michael Burress Obituary

MICHAEL BURRESS Age 30, died after a three year battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at his home in Ithaca, New York. His wife, brother and best friend were at his side. Michael was born in Southern California, he attended Agoura High School and Racecar Engineering School in Monterey in 1993. There he met his future wife and soul mate, Melissa. Michael had an entrepreneurial spirit and started Lightspeed Mot orsports in 1999. Michael was diagnosed with cancer in 2002 but continued to live his life to the fullest and traveled with Melissa and friends to Spain, Italy, Prague and the California wine country. Friends and family will miss Michael's sense of character, strength, positive energy and pure spirit. Melissa will continue to honor Michael's motto to pursue your dreams, try your best as its all family, friends and God can ask for. Survivors include his wife, Melissa; parents, Susan and James Lee, and J ohn Burress; his brothers, David, Christopher (Sarah), and Tom; nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sarcoma Alliance, 775 E. Blithsdale, #334, Mill Valley, CA 94941, or Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
