Robert Burns Obituary

July 21, 1925 - February 21, 2022 Born July 21, 1925 in Kansas City, KS to Alfred and Ruth Burns. Died February 21, 2022 with daughters Sharon and Pam by his side. Married 60 years to Barbara, who pre-deceased him in 2007; also preceded in death by sons Robert (1954-1981) and Scott (1960-2012), and sister Dorothy. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon and Pam (Jeff), daughter-in-law Catherine (Scott), sister Mildred, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob received his DDS degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He was a founder of the Victory-Tampa Medical Building, Reseda in 1962 where he practiced dentistry until his retirement in 1987. He had a gentle technique and sense of humor that endeared him to patients and staff, many of whom continue to this day as treasured friends. Possessing a keen business savvy and interest in real estate, he invested in both residential and commercial properties throughout Southern California. A member of "The Greatest Generation," Bob served his country as a member of the United States Army. He saw action in the Philippines and New Guinea, a Master Sergeant with the 163rd anti-aircraft battalion. To honor that service, Dad requested that any donations be made to For the Troops (forthetroops.org), P.O. Box 12, Simi Valley, CA 93065.
