Robert Hoag Obituary

HOAG, Robert

Robert Hoag, September 21, 1942, passed away October 30, 2011, born in Pasadena, California, fourth of six children of Eugene' and Charles Hoag. Bob graduated from Pasadena High School in 1960. Bob served in the Army for two years, 1961 - 1964, part of his service assignment being stationed in South Korea. He began working for the San Gabriel Police Department from 1969 until 1979, being promoted to Sergeant the last two years of his civil service.

Bob learned to make custom jewelry from his friend Don Walker in San Gabriel where he met Don's daughter Laura, whom he later married. Bob relocated to Sonora in 1983 and while working at Tuolumne County Boat Patrol, opened a jewelry store then brought Laura and her two small children from a previous marriage to Sonora from Southern California and they were married in September of 1984. At that time, the couple opened Woods Creek Jewelry in Jamestown and operated it successfully for 13 years.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years Laura Hoag, his children Rachel Sanguinetti and Ryan Stamp, Rachel's two children Brayden and Cooper Sanguinetti, his sisters Charlene and Joanne Hoag, brothers Chuck and Bill Hoag, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Sean Hoag.

After a sincere diligent study of the Bible, Bob became one of Jehovah's Witnesses March 10, 2001 and served Jehovah God faithfully until his death October 30th. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 22050 Cedar Rd, Sonora, CA

Bob will be remembered by many for his quick wit and dry sense of humor.
