Tom Breneman Obituary

TOM BRENEMAN June 24, 1933 - September 9, 2003 Tom went to be with our Lord after a lengthy battle with cancer. Truly a local, he was born in Burbank, graduated from Canoga Park High School and Columbia College of Broadcasting. His career included radio broadcasting in the early years at stations in Tucson, Denver and Los Angeles. He also worked for many years at KCOP Television in Los Angeles. He then transitioned into advertising, joining Dancer, Fitzgerald, Sample advertising agency where he selected many successful TV shows for sponsors. In the late 1960's he developed Breneman Radio Services with his wife, Betty, as a broadcast consulting firm and also published a weekly radio/music newsletter. Tom's father was a national radio celebrity in the 1940's with his daily radio program "Breakfast in Hollywood". He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty; his son, Major Tom Breneman Jr., USMC; daughter-in- law, Shelly; grandchildren, Kayla and Samuel; mother-in-law, Rose Liuzzi; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vince and Carol Liuzzi; nieces and nephews, Dawn Canfield, Vincent Liuzzi III, Joe Liuzzi, Kathy Shepherd and Tom Liuzzi and their families as well as a host of relatives and close friends. Funeral Service will be at St. Mel Catholic Church in Woodland Hills on Saturday, September 13, 2003, 10:00 a.m. The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
