A.B. Forman

A.B. Forman, age 82, of Jellico, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the Tennova LaFollette Medical Center in LaFollette. A.B. was preceded in death by his mother and father, Pearl Grady Forman and Marshall Forman; daughter, Tonya Forman; brother, Ervin Forman and mother-in-law, Doris Lansden.
A.B. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Lansden Forman; daughter, Angie Forman; son, Keith and wife, Penny Forman; granddaughter, Hanna Forman and fiancŽ, Jordan Partin.
A.B. retired from James River Coal Company where he served as director of personnel. A.B. was very active in the community, serving as Mayor of Jellico from 1964-1970. Just a partial list of accomplishments includes, securing funds to build Indian Mountain State Park; new water and sewer plants, Jellico Community Hospital, Tennessee Welcome Center and rest areas, development of zoning for street and sidewalks and updated utilities.
A.B. was a faithful member of the Jellico First Baptist Church, serving in any capacity that was needed. He will be greatly missed in our community.
Services were held Sept. 22 at the Jellico First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert C. Dunston officiating. The eulogy was given by Campbell County Veteran's Affairs Officer, Kevin Walden. Interment was in Jellico Cemetery with military honors given by American Legion Post 154. Serving as pallbearers were Keith Forman; Darrell Dykes; Matt Tackett; Jordan Partin; Brent Johnson and Dalton Moses. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Jellico First Baptist Church.
The Llewellyn Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of arrangements.
