Fred Carroll

Mr. Fred Carroll, age 86, of LaFollette, passed away Monday, Oct. 22. He was born Dec. 19, 1932 in Campbell County.
Fred was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked for 34 years and 11 months for South Central Bell, BellSouth, and retired from AT&T. Fred was a 32* Scottish Rite Mason and an avid golfer. Fred will be remembered for his love of singing praises to the Lord, his cheerful spirit, and his endearing smile.
He was preceded in death by parents, Shird and Naomi Hubbard Carroll; sisters, Ruby Leach (Bill) and Mabel Ridenour (Gene); brothers, Shan Carroll (Alma) and Sam Carroll; and infant siblings, Edna and Elmer Carroll.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lois Heatherly Carroll; daughter, Brenda Goins and husband, Marvin; sons, Andy Carroll and wife, Jennifer, and Bobby Carroll and wife, Angie; grandchildren, Brandi Kincaid McGee and husband, Daniel, Abbi Kincaid Bishop and husband, Ben, Drew Carroll and wife, Holly, Jordan Carroll and Husband, Taylor, Lindsey Carroll Booker and husband, David, Corey Carroll and wife, Autumn, Brent Carroll, Emily Carroll; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with grandson, the Rev. Corey Carroll and the Rev. Mark Partin officiating. Interment followed at Campbell Memorial Gardens with full military honors conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard. The family received friends from 12 to 2 p.m. before funeral services.
