Lawrence Proffitt Obituary
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Oscar Proffitt, Sr. and Anna Mae (Corli) Proffitt; and two sons, Lawrence John "Larry" Proffitt, Jr. and infant Warren Jeffery Proffitt.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean (King) Proffitt; four children, Cynthia Diane Proffitt, Vera Lynn (Proffitt) White, Stuart Anthony Proffitt and Lee Ellen (Proffitt) Prater; and a host of friends, neighbors and other relatives to mourn his passing.
The funeral service was on Tuesday, July 27 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Bargo, the Rev. Lonnie Lyke and Brother Luke Barton officiating. Special singing was provided by Reed Elliotte.
Interment followed on Wednesday, July 28 in the Jellico Cemetery. Military graveside honors were provided by the Jellico Honor Guard. Pallbearers were Stuart Proffitt, Shane Cobb, Cameron Wilder, Dominic Proffitt, Tony Proffitt, Wesley Proffitt, Darrel Griffith and Paul Morgan.
Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of arrangements.
